STREETS, ALLEYS, BRIDGES
AND
SIDEWALKS:
PUBLIC PROPERTY, WATER
AND SEWER:
There is a little leak at campground
and one across from Meyer Insurance.
Cox has been contacted.
We have received a bill from Frank
Krebs for damages to his plumbing.
Apparently when the water was shut off at the tank there was a
lot of
backpressure and several people on Hubbard did not have water. When it came back on, Mike found resin in
the water. Mr. Krebs also had a big
problem with the resin. No one was
aware that the water was going to be shut off.
What Mr. Croup would like to see is that everyone involved
should be
notified when water is to be shut off.
HEALTH, WELFARE AND POLICE:
FINANCE AND APPROPRIATIONS:
PERMITS AND LICENSE:
Mr. Diffenderfer made a motion and
Mr Marks seconded that we approve liquor licenses for Davey’s
Riverside Inn,
GG’s Bar & Grill, Bowen Oil.
Included is a temporary, permit for River Days.
All were in favor. Motion carried.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Fence up at the church seems to be
done. The $1500 is due to the
church.
We need to establish a meeting for
the budget and appropriations. It has
been decided that Tuesday, June 22nd at 7:00 will be the
date.
Campground seems to be crowded
lately. Do we need to put some trash
cans out? There are two over at the
shelter house, but they are far away.
Denny will get a can out by the campground.
Winslow Park District will be
meeting on Saturday at 8:00 to discuss the baseball field.
Mr. Croup is talking with Mr. McPhillips
regarding the pond. He has met with Mr.
Ivey and he stated that he would match the funds that are raised for
leveling
the baseball field. Total project
cost
was somewhere around $12,000.
There has been some discussion on potholes
on Taylor Street. We need to look at
the street and get some cold patches done to the street until we get
the funds
appropriation from IDOT. Mr. Marks will
check to see if we can get some from Civil and Mr. Bunker will talk to
Cox.
A letter concerning the sidewalk in
front of Scott Baldauf’s house has been received.
There is some concern as to the safety of the sidewalk.
Russ Hanson contributed $500 for the
Ivey Pond Project.
Wireless internet service contract
has arrived. They will be providing the
service to the school, the Village Hall and the Fire Department no
charge. Mr. Diffenderfer made a motion and
Mrs. Wire
seconded that we accept the agreement written by Aero between Aero and
the
Village. All were in favor.
Motion carried.
There is little lighting back behind
Boco. If we go with Com Ed there will
be an 8-12 week lead-time and prices are high.
There are two other options: 1)
partial by Com Ed and partial by us or 2) all work done by Village. We would need to get an easement from the
owner of the property in back. It was
decided that we get quotes from companies to see how much it would take
to put
the poles in.
Someone complained to Mrs.
McPhillips that Mr.Youtzy has a tenant that has a motorcycle that has
been
sitting. Someone should advise him of
our ordinance. There have been several
discussions on tenant parking. There
was a time when the landlords were asked to discuss the situations with
their
tenants but no ordinance was issued.
The fire department will be flushing
hydrants at 7:00 am on Saturday June 18th.
Mr. Hastings made a motion to give
Mr. Mason permission to use his
best judgement to determine which chlorinator to use and purchase it. Roll call was made. All
were in favor. Motion carried.
Nothing happening with
TIF this month. The only thing we have is
a bill from Cox.
A motion was made by Mrs. Wire and
seconded by Mr. Diffenderfer to approve the bills.
Roll call was made. All
were in favor. Motion carried.
Mr. Croup adjourned the
meeting at 9:15 PM.
