Welcome to the Junior Kindergarten Program at Winslow Elementary School! This program is designed to meet the needs of children 4 and 5 years of age who are chronologically ready for Kindergarten, yet would benefit from some extra time to mature socially and emotionally. The focus of this program is to prepare these students for the skills needed to assure success in Kindergarten - in other words, Kindergarten readiness.
We are a 1/2 day program and meet from Monday through Friday. The class size of 10 children allows for more individual attention. We emphasize social and emotional skills, speech and language development, fine and gross motor skills, and reading and math readiness. To promote hands-on learning we make use of many manipulatives. Field trips, holiday parties, and special assemblies add to our learning fun. Please come to visit to see for yourself!
